The right laser devices open up a wide range of possible applications. Topics include hair removal, pigment treatments, treatments for leg veins, acne or spider veins, pore treatments, scar treatment, skin rejuvenation or the treatment of rosacea (= couperose).
There are many different methods available for removing fine lines and wrinkles. All methods stimulate the skin to produce new and younger looking skin and result in skin contraction and tightening. Dermabrasion and chemical peels are commonly used, but energy-based methods using radiofrequency, laser or light are more effective.
What is laser treatment?
Laser therapy refers to the application of focused light radiation in medicine.
The combination of two wavelengths in one system (Nd:YAG and KTP lasers) allows the treatment of all vascular lesions of all skin types.
Patented IntelliTrak technology ensures uniform and rapid energy delivery at the selected overlap.
Temperature measurement provides real-time feedback to monitor treatment efficacy and safe endpoints. In addition, integrated cryogenic cooling provides low-pain sessions that cool and numb the skin with maximum effectiveness.
What treatments can be performed?
The following laser treatments can be performed:
- Port-wine stains
- Rosacea (= couperose)
- Spider veins
- Sun damage
- Hemangioma ( = hemangioma)
- Skin rejuvenation
- Pore treatment
- Pigment changes/Melasma
- Acne treatment
- Scar treatment
What treatments can be performed?
Hair removal with modern and highly professional laser devices is a treatment for permanent removal. With the help of laser therapy the hair is destroyed at the hair roots.
We use a long-pulsed 532nm KTP & 1064nm Nd:YAG laser with the latest technologies such as cryogenic cooling, variable sequence pulse train technology and real-time temperature sensing.
The focused laser beams permanently destroy the hair and the hair root in the treated area. 4 to 10 sessions are necessary at intervals of 6 to 8 weeks.
How does the treatment of rosacea couperose work?
Rosacea is an inflammatory skin disease of the face that is first accompanied by increased redness of the skin, then inflammation such as pustules or papules can occur, which can lead to significant impairment.
The cause of rosacea is thought to be disturbed blood flow in the facial area or certain skin mites. Sun exposure or creams that are too oily can lead to a worsening. With the long pulsed 532nm KTP & 1064nm Nd:YAG laser the skin redness can be treated successfully, for a good result several sessions are necessary.
How does the hair removal work?
The removal or permanent reduction of unwanted hair by laser light depends on the scientific principle of selective photothermolysis. When the correct wavelength of laser light is applied to the hair in the treatment area, melanin in the hair absorbs the light, which is converted into heat energy. The buildup of heat energy results in the destruction of the hair follicles and their associated stem cells and dermal papillae, while the surrounding skin remains undamaged. Some follicles are only damaged or may regrow. Therefore, numerous treatments are required to effectively reduce or eliminate unwanted hair and achieve a permanent result.
To successfully remove unwanted hair by laser treatment, energy must be applied carefully so that hair follicles are damaged but nearby skin and tissue are spared. This can be more or less difficult depending on each patient’s individual characteristics such as skin color, hair color, and hair thickness. When treating hair with a laser, these characteristics can be taken into account by adjusting treatment parameters such as fluence, pulse width and repetition rate.
Treatment of fine wrinkles and folds or acne scars?
As we age, the quality and elasticity of the skin diminishes, causing fine lines and wrinkles. Loss of volume in the face also contributes to signs of aging.
Skin aging is determined by genetic constitution, but other factors such as smoking, regular or excessive sunbathing or poor nutrition also accelerate the formation of wrinkles. Skin resurfacing is a commonly used method to reduce wrinkles or fine lines and to treat sagging skin.
Laser treatment stimulates the skin to produce new and younger looking skin and results in skin contraction and tightening. The treatment can be used as a monotherapy or as a combination therapy – for example, in conjunction with a facelift. For optimal results, several laser treatments (3 treatments on average) should be performed.
How does the treatment of pigmentary changes or melasma work?
The formation of age spots, freckles, birthmarks and other forms of benign pigmentation is influenced by a variety of environmental factors such as sun exposure, genetic predisposition and the natural ageing process of the skin. Their size, shape and number are completely individual. The laser energy is directed at the pigments (or, in the case of moles, also at the vascular tissue) and breaks them up.
The dead skin cells are then removed by the body’s natural processes. This type of treatment is associated with minimal damage to the skin and tissue in the surrounding skin region. The degree of difficulty of this treatment depends on factors such as the patient’s skin color and the size, type and number of pigmentation spots. In some cases, several treatments are required.
Is the treatment painful?
Before the treatment, if desired, we will apply anesthetic cream for about 20-30 minutes. In addition, the integrated cryogenic cooling ensures low-pain sessions, which the skin is cooled and anesthetized with maximum effectiveness.
Are there alternative rsp. combined treatment methods?
The laser treatment can be combined with a vampire lift with the patient’s own blood or with an autologous fat treatment rsp. facelift.
Sclerotherapy with foam therapy can be used to treat blue spider veins. An alternative treatment method for wrinkle reduction and facial tightening is treatment with the unique GENIUS technology, which stimulates collagen production in your skin.
Impressive results can be achieved using high-intensity focused radiofrequency. GENIUS uses your body’s own response to tighten your skin. Energy is delivered directly to your dermis through gold-plated microneedles. The delivery of the energy stimulates the natural growth of collagen and elastin. This unique and innovative technology protects the upper layer of the skin while allowing for the treatment of all skin types.
An alternative option for the treatment of pigment rsp. melasma or wrinkles is TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peeling. TCA peeling is a gentle, non-surgical technology for the treatment of facial scars, skin irregularities, small wrinkles or sun-induced skin damage rsp. melasma or chloasma.
What do I have to consider before the treatment?
We recommend that you do not sunbathe before laser hair removal and, if possible, do not appear tanned for the treatment. For laser hair removal, the areas to be treated should be thoroughly shaved beforehand. Please do not wear make-up for your facial treatment.
What are the risks of the treatment?
Immediately after treatment, slight redness may occur in the treated regions. These are quite normal and usually last only a few hours. Occasionally, the redness can also be somewhat more severe. If this is the case with you, you should not scratch, but let the skin heal on its own.
We can advise you on the appropriate skin care. In the course of a laser treatment, burns can be caused if not handled properly. In addition, pigment shifts, redness or swelling may occur, which is why consistent sun protection SPF 50 is necessary after the treatment. During laser treatment, it is important to protect the eyes so as not to cause any damage.
What should be observed after the treatment?
You will be able to work and socialize immediately after the treatment and you will be able to do sports normally. The best results are achieved with non-tanned skin, which is why you should avoid sun exposure of the treatment area between treatments if possible rsp. apply a sunscreen SPF 50.
The hair should not be plucked or waxed for at least 4 weeks. The ideal time for laser treatment is autumn to spring.
Result? How many treatments are necessary?
You will notice immediate results after laser treatment. Depending on the initial situation, the final result (smooth, soft and hair-free skin, refined pores, significant reduction of wrinkles) is achieved after 4 to 10 treatments.
Treating unwanted pigment and stimulating your skin’s own collagen production is a gradual process that may require multiple sessions to achieve effective results. The number of sessions required depends on the nature and severity of your aesthetic problem. 1-3 treatment sessions are recommended.
What are the costs for laser treatments?
The cost of a treatment is agreed in advance depending on the region and severity (from CHF 150.- to CHF 3’000.- per treatment). As a rule, packages of 6 – 12 treatments are agreed, sometimes an annual flat rate is also appropriate.
Payment is made directly after treatment, preferred payment options are cash, Maestro or credit card (or Postcard). Unfortunately, we do not accept payment by installments or payments by invoice.
